| This is a delightful cottage well maintained by its owners,
offering very comfortable and well equipped accommodation.
Originally a Victorian herdsman's cottage with a more recent
extension, it is situated next to a larger 17th century house, with
access from its garden onto a field and from there onto footpaths
which pass through woodland. The village of Dinton is situated in
the Nadder Valley some 8 miles to the west of the cathedral city
of Salisbury. As well as having a local shop, pub, church and
excellent plant nursery, it also boasts two National Trust
properties, Little Clarendon, a Tudor house and Philipps House (c
1820), together with Dinton Park, which offers many attractive
walks.
Within easy driving distance are Wilton House, (palladian style
mansion) prehistoric Stonehenge, Longleat and Stourhead (18th
century, English landscape style gardens) to name but a few of the
many visitor attractions in the area. For children, Farmer Giles
Farmstead 1 1/2 miles away, provides excellent entertainment for
children with its large variety of animals. This is also a lovely
area for walking and for enjoying South West Wiltshire's much
admired country villages where good pubs are still plentiful. Dinton
is also accessible to London, a 2 hour car journey via the M3 and
A303, to Bath, approx. 50 minutes' drive and to the South Dorset
coast, also reachable in under an hour.
Fitz Farm Cottage has been awarded a Visit Britain 3 star
grading. |
