Wilton House to host 36th Annual Antiques FairPosted on 09th February 2013
The beautiful Wilton House in Wiltshire is to be the setting for a major antique fair that is sure to be a great day out for avid collectors and casual browsers alike.
The perfect event for those enjoying their Wiltshire cottage holidays over the weekend, the 36th Annual Antiques Fair at Wilton House is scheduled to take place on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd March, with entry costing just £5.50 per person.
Having first taken place four decades ago, this fair is now a well-established event on the national antiques circuit and, every year features a wide range of historic items spanning different eras, product types and tastes. The 2013 instalment will also include a number of new stands which have not previously been a part of proceedings, and these will be located in the Old Riding School area of the property.
The ancestral home of the Earl and Countess of Pembroke, the elegant Wilton House has been in the same family since the 16th century, and is therefore an ideal location for such an occasion. The 40 separate stands provide guests with the chance to take a close look at every kind of antique they could hope to find. As would be expected, experts will be on hand to share their knowledge about particular objects and their potential prices.
The line-up of this year’s exhibitors has already been confirmed, and it is sure to please anyone with an interest in antiques who will be staying at one of the attractive holiday cottages in Wiltshire that weekend. Just some of the antiques set to be displayed include furniture, jewellery, porcelain, glass, prints, clocks and silver, with several other lines also featured. The full catalogue for the event can be found on the house’s official website.
