Wadworth Brewery wins gold at tourism awardsPosted on 16th February 2015
Wadworth Brewery in Devizes recently won a gold award at the South West England Tourism Excellence Awards.
Beating stiff competition from more than 425 attractions, such as the Porthcurno Telegraph Museum in Cornwall, and the Corinium Museum in Cirencester, the brewery scooped up the prestigious award for Small Visitors Attraction of the Year. This is only the first time that the attraction has entered and came as a welcome surprise for the team at Wadworth Brewery.
The brewery has become increasingly popular since it opened its doors seven years ago and gives visitors a unique insight into the history and heritage of the company. Those staying near Devizes in Wiltshire holiday cottages can visit the Wadworth Brewery and enjoy a guided tour, as well as beer tasting and the opportunity to meet the resident Shire Horses.
The visitor centre in New Park Street will now be up for a national accolade at the Visit England awards which take place in May this year.
