Tour of Britain’s Wiltshire route announcedPosted on 27th July 2014
The route for the Tour of Britain’s Wiltshire leg has been revealed by the race’s organisers.
Stage six of the tour, which takes place on 12th September, will see the world’s best riders begin in Bath and finish in Hemel Hempstead.
The race is expected to attract thousands of people and with over 40 miles of the sixth stage going through Wiltshire, organisers of the race are expecting the best priced holiday cottages in Wiltshire to be snapped up well in advance by visitors to the area.
The stage will go through Winsley, Bradford on Avon, Trowbridge, Devizes, Semington, Seend, Chirton and Pewsey before the riders head to towards the finishing line.
Jane Scott, who is the leader of Wiltshire Council, said, “This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the county of Wiltshire to a global audience and we are delighted to host Stage 6 of the tour.
The 2013 Tour of Britain was won by Sir Bradley Wiggins and this year’s event is once again set to attract the world’s best cyclists.
