Thousands of foodies descend on Marlborough for festivalPosted on 21st May 2015
The Marlborough Food and Drink Festival was full of the right ingredients as thousands of visitors attended the event.
Visitors staying in holiday cottages in Wiltshire near Marlborough and locals who attended the festival, which took place on 16th-17th May, got to see Great British Bake Off contestant Cathryn Dresser, TV presenter Stefan Gates and chef Jack Stein, who is the son of Rick Stein.
Speaking to the Gazette & Herald, John Rhodes, the director of Garden Events Company, which organises the festival, said, “Jack Stein was really popular, the Kitchen theatre was packed.
“There was a lot of interest in Stefan Gates as well on the Sunday with his locusts and talking about how taste buds work.”
As well as the cookery shows, the 6,000 foodies who attended this year’s two-day Marlborough Food and Drink Festival were able to taste food and drink from local producers who had stalls at the event.
Due to the success of this year’s festival, plans are underway for next year’s event already.
