Standing in the grounds of a larger cottage, yet far enough away
from it to ensure privacy and seclusion for its guests, The Coach
House has been expertly planned and converted by its architect
owner, providing accommodation which combines traditional materials
- reclaimed pine floors, exposed beams and planked doors - with the
more essential requirements of contemporary living. Mere is an
attractive village of old stone cottages situated on the borders of
Wiltshire, Dorset and Somerset, a former staging post midway between
London and the West Country. It is only 2 miles from the much
admired, landscaped gardens and 18th century Palladian Mansion at
Stourhead and is very centrally placed for visiting many visitor
attractions, the historic cities of Bath, Salisbury and Wells,
Stonehenge, Cheddar Gorge, Longleat and Wardour Castle all being
within a 30 miles radius. Mere itself is a lively community with a
good variety of local shops, several churches, pubs and hotels, as
well as a well known wine importer specialising in French Loire and
Rhone wines. |
