Royal Ballet comes to WiltshirePosted on 27th January 2014
The Wiltshire Music Centre is to play host to a spectacular performance of Marius Petipa’s Giselle by the Royal Ballet this January. Produced by the renowned dancer and choreographer Peter Wright KBE, the performance is set to be a huge hit with locals and visitors alike.
With a story of love and betrayal, the Royal Ballet and Orchestra of the Royal Opera House are set to attract many to this one-off performance in the county, with people coming from all over the UK to make use of the nearby self-catering holiday cottages in Wiltshire and watch the recital.
Taking place on the 27th January at 7.15pm, the performance would mark the perfect end to a long weekend in the rural county.
Described as the greatest of all the Romantic ballets, the Royal Ballet’s performance of Giselle will make for a great early Valentine’s outing for all who attend.
Giselle is the tale of a peasant girl who falls in love with a Count, and is said to have transformed the world of ballet with its first performance in Paris in 1841. For ticket information, see the wiltshiremusic.org.uk website.
