New Wiltshire tourism film inspires visitorsPosted on 21st July 2016
In an effort to attract more visitors to the beautiful county, a new film has been created with the help of VisitWiltshire. The film includes aerial footage of Wiltshire shot from a drone.
Titled “What View Did You Wake Up to This Morning?”, the film is the first in a three-part series that will showcase the best the county has to offer. Watching the film, viewers are transported over Wiltshire landmarks and destinations. There are shots of Silbury Hill, its fantastic white horses, Longleat, as well as the Kennet and Avon Canal.

“This footage will encourage more domestic and international visitors to come and see the magnificent Wiltshire countryside and iconic landmarks and views we have,” said Fiona Errington, marketing manager at VisitWiltshire in talking to local media. “We are working closely with VisitBritain, VisitEngland and VisitWiltshire partners to ensure this is shared online and via social media channels.”
The film was made using the most up-to-date drone technology. Thanks in part to funding from the South West Tourism Growth Fund – valued at £5 million. More attractions caught on film include the majestic Salisbury Cathedral, Bowood, Wilton Windmill, and Crofton Beam Engines. There are also shots of the Abbey House Gardens and the Malmesbury Abbey too.
The film is the perfect way to scan the region when picking out your ideal holiday cottage in Wiltshire. Small villages, market towns, stately homes and gardens, as well as some of the most beautiful countryside in the world, Wiltshire is the perfect holiday destination.
