Harry Potter pub to be resurrectedPosted on 20th June 2014
One of Wiltshire’s oldest pubs that was featured in one of the Harry Potter films is set to be reopened after laying empty for the last few months.
The “At the Sign of the Angel” pub, which is in Lacock in Wiltshire, has not been used since January this year but has now been bought by two brothers from the Melksham area who are planning to renovate and reopen the pub so people on quality Wiltshire cottage holidays can once again enjoy it.
One of the brothers, Tom Nicholas, told a local newspaper, “It’s a unique building, in what is a lovely village, and it seemed like a good opportunity to create a place that’s serving great food and can be a place bringing people to Lacock.”
The old inn is located in a 15th century building and due to its uniqueness it featured in the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Blockbuster movie as the ‘Babberton Arms’.
The new owners of the pub are now recruiting local staff to work in the pub and are expecting these soon to be appointed staff members to be pulling their first pints in autumn this year.
