Half term trail to be a success in WiltshirePosted on 11th February 2014
Families visiting Wiltshire this February half term are in for a treat as the Old Sarum castle grounds put on an exclusive trail to explore. Old Sarum on Castle Road in Salisbury is an ancient site that is popular at all times of year but this half term will see it bring something extra special to visiting families.
Between the 15th and the 23rd, families staying in nearby child friendly Wiltshire holiday cottages will be able to enjoy the special trail that involves a test of skills as kids and grownups alike get involved in finding a series of intriguing clues. Once the trail is complete and all the clues have been solved, children can then go and claim their tasty prize.
Today (Tuesday 11th) the castle grounds are open between 10am and 4pm, but Old Sarum’s history dates back 5,000 years. Families and visitors intrigued by Wiltshire’s heritage can come to explore the huge Iron Age hill fort that has seen rule by the Romans, Normans and Saxons.
