Looking out across acres of undulating pastureland grazed by sheep and horses and beyond to the wooded hilltops of the Wiltshire/Dorset border, Seniors Cottage is peacefully situated at the end of a long farm track, well away from busy roads. This part of southern England, where Wiltshire blends with Dorset is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, much appreciated for its unspoilt downland and contrasting sheltered valleys. This is a lovely area to explore on foot, cycle or by car and there are many pretty villages with stone and thatch cottages where historic country pubs with good restaurants are still plentiful. Seniors Cottage also provides a very central touring base, being within two hours' drive of London and less than an hour from the South Dorset heritage coastline. It is also an easy drive from Salisbury, Bath, Stonehenge, Longleat, and such hidden treasures as Stourhead Gardens and Old Wardour Castle.
The Saxon hilltop town of Shaftesbury, famous for the cobbled street Gold Hill and with spectacular views across the surrounding Dorset landscape, is only 3 miles away and offers comprehensive shopping facilities. Semley itself is an attractive village with a closely-knit local community and a pub, village school and church. Comments from previous visitors "Our first booking with you was H154, Seniors Farm Cottage, and we would like to say how very much we enjoyed our stay. Everything was superb especially the welcome pack, small Christmas tree in the kitchen and crackers and mince pies. The owners had thought of everything to make our holiday enjoyable." Vivien Hoare, December 2007. "Thank you for arranging a wonderful week at Seniors Farm Cottage. The cottage was very clean, well equipped....a most relaxing week. The owners were very hospitable and I was surprised to see such a welcome pack, including a bottle of wine, on my arrival. I cannot praise their efforts enough." Mr Bonnick, October 2008
