Armed forces parade to take place in WiltshirePosted on 27th June 2014
The Freedom of Trowbridge Parade takes place this Saturday at 11am as part of the Wiltshire Armed Forces and Veterans Weekend celebrations.
The parade, which attracts hundreds of people who are staying in premier holiday cottages in Wiltshire as well as local people, will this year feature soldiers from the 14 Regiment Royal Artillery.
They will be joined by the well-known King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery and the Band of the Royal Artillery.
Crowds will be able to see equipment from the 14 Regiment Royal Artillery such as a 105mm Light Gun, a Warrior observation post vehicle and a high velocity missile system to name but a few.
Commemorations take place across the whole weekend at Trowbridge Park and a number of demonstrations will take place across the two-day event.
Some of the demonstrations that are taking place include a weapons display and skirmish re-enactment, a bomb disposal demonstration and a walkthrough timeline that gives visitors to the event an insight into the current day soldier to the soldiers that fought in World War One.
