2014 Tour of Britain set to visit WiltshirePosted on 02nd April 2014
It has been confirmed that the upcoming 2014 Tour of Britain cycle race will make an appearance in the beautiful county of Wiltshire, meaning that locals and visitors alike may be able to catch a glimpse of such legendary UK cyclists as Sir Bradley Wiggins and Chris Froome.
According to organisers, Friday September 12th will be the day that the tour makes its way through Wiltshire for the very first time, with competitors set to navigate Salisbury Plain and the streets of Bradford on Avon and Devizes on their stage six journey between Bath and Hemel Hempstead.
Late summer and early autumn is seen as one of the best times of year to book a stay in one of the cosy Wiltshire holiday cottages to rent anyway – with the warm weather and the fact that the peak season has passed leading to fewer crowds that make for a pleasing combination – but the newly announced chance to see some true sporting icons in action at the same time will surely prove irresistible for many.
